Now that I have finally gotten brave enough to begin another creative journey, I'm so happy about the decision! It was a long time coming really. I've always had ideas about how I wish clothes would look, or strange things I'd like to wear. To take the plunge and just give it go felt really intimidating. The learning process, and many time demands have meant a slow start- having to stop often and come back to it when I can. However I am thrilled to have met with some success on my very first dress!
A long, black, backless gown with wide, blue-gray satin straps framing the open back, and decorated details at the front.
Watching the whole process come together under my hands from sketch, to selecting materials, and piecing the parts together into a whole was so exciting! From my head, through my hands, and into a dress I could wear.
It was such a rewarding experience.

That wonderful day was late last summer with Fotografica Gregor, a photographer that I always enjoy working up with. I love the open exchange of ideas and amount of freedom with styling and concepts we often have. Months later, it turns out some of the photos were picked up for publication in the December 2013 "Hell on the Heart" issue of Surreal Beauty Magazine.
This feels like a very encouraging start to my attempt at designing.

Since then, I have been full of ideas and trying to sketch these out when I can.
A few more things have been made, but most clothing concepts remain waiting patiently in my notebook until I can devote my full attention to these projects that I admit have captured my fascination very firmly.
More soon!
