Now that the images submitted have been published, and I am free to share them, I also thought it would be funny to share a glimpse into how these images came to be. Sometimes the seeds of creativity come from unexpected sources.

It ended up becoming one of my favorite shoots to date, but started as me just messing around. So professional...

This all began shortly after I moved.

Living in the woods means trees constantly trying to spring up and take over your bit of yard, to reclaim it as woods once again. There is one particular tree that the women who sold us the place emphatically warned us about. It starts as a little weed, popping up at the woodline, but also dangerously close to the building. It then grows rapidly into a very broad leafed, spindly sapling, and swiftly from there into a massive, thick tree that is almost impossible to combat.

I found myself in the position of having to cut down a bunch of these saplings with story-book huge foliage. How could I not try to make something with them?

And so, I did.

Steve and I had free time together and I asked him,

"Wanna come play outside?" And so we did.

Everything is shot on my property. Everything I'm wearing is from my yard. It was a lot of fun, and as usual working with Steve turned out some amazing images.

I was thrilled to have them included in a December issue of Freaque Magazine
